Coalition for Capacity on Climate Action (C3A)
C3A was inaugurated at the Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact as a platform for Ministries of Finance designed to bridge the divide between science and policy for climate and nature-related economic and financial policies
Hosted by the World Bank, the initiative partners with Ministries of Finance at the national (Brazil, Colombia, Uganda) regional (COSEFIN, CEPAL, UNECA and CAREC) and international level (OECD) as well as with networks of Universities and think-tanks such as Science-Po, Bocconi, UniCamp, Exeter, Tsing Hua and FinDevLab in Paris. In collaboration with the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, C3A conducts impact analyses of the Brazilian Ecological Transformation Plan and supports the preparation of COP30, highlighting the pivotal role of Ministries of Finance. Key challenges for COP30 implementation include the coordinated development of climate-macroeconomic scenarios tailored for Ministries of Finance and enhancing the function of country platforms to integrate the development and climate financing agendas
